8. It Was Almost Named After A Joy Division Song - Venom: Let There Be Carnage

Venom: Let There Be Carnage may not be a great title, but it's effective enough in immediately telling audiences what the movie is about. However, the film's title hadn't yet been settled upon during production, and so it was simply shot as "Venom 2."

However, there was a brief moment in time where the film almost had an altogether more playful title, as Andy Serkis suggested to Sony that it could be named Venom: Love Will Tear Us Apart, after the iconic Joy Division song of the same name.

Sadly it didn't stick: it would've been a perfect title considering that the movie is basically a low-key rom-com starring Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and the titular symbiote.
