12. Chris Evans Filmed His Cameo In Under 10 Minutes - Free Guy

One of the more surprising cameos in Free Guy came from Chris Evans, who appears for literally two seconds as himself, sat in a coffee shop while watching Guy (Ryan Reynolds) use Captain America's shield to battle Dude (also Reynolds... sort of).

While watching the fight on his phone, Evans hilariously exclaims, "What the s**t!?", and that's all she wrote. It's a riotous two seconds, though.

Evans originally wasn't written to appear in the film, though, and the cameo only came about once Reynolds learned that Evans was also in Boston shooting the TV show Defending Jacob.

Reynolds texted Evans to invite him to the set with the promise that he could film a cameo in record time, which Evans promptly agreed to. In director Shawn Levy's words:

"Literally Ryan just texted Chris Evans, because I guess all handsome movie stars know each other? It's some network that us normal humans aren't allowed in. But he knew that Chris was filming Defending Jacob in Boston, and he said 'If you could come by our set, and if Shawn can get you in and out in 10 minutes, will you come and do this cameo?' And Chris, being the cool guy that he seems to be, and in fact is, said yeah. Literally, he drove by our set, I had a camera waiting, we filmed him in five minutes, he was on his way. And that's how that happened."

Given the enormous complexities involved with setting up lighting and makeup for even basic camera setups like this, that's an incredibly impressive turnaround.
