1. Indy References Dwight D. Eisenhower's Presidential Campaign Slogan - Indiana Jones & The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull
After Indy is captured at the beginning of Crystal Skull, led to Hanger 51 by Irina Spalko and turned on by Mac (Ray Winstone), Spalko asks him, "No defiant last words, Dr. Jones?". All Indy can say is, "I like Ike", before launching into an attack and fleeing from the Russians. The phrase won't make much sense to most viewers under the age of about 50, but it's a reference to President Dwight D. Eisenhower's (who was President at the time of Crystal Skull) campaign slogan, "I like Ike", simply suggesting that Jones is opposed to Spalko's communist agenda, and won't be turning on his country like Mac did. It's probably one of the least bada** pre-fight smackdowns of all time, but if you've read up on your American history, at least it means something.
