2. Periscope Soldier Heckles Indy - Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade
In The Last Crusade, when Indy is fighting with a Nazi soldier atop a tank, a soldier inside the vehicle gets on the periscope to see what's going on. Indy is thrown face-first into the periscope lens, to which the German soldier chuckles and utters an un-subtitled comment to his colleagues. The actual remark is "Die Amerikaner! Die kämpfen wie weiber!", which translates to "The Americans! They fight like girls!". It's an amusing dash of added value for German audiences, and for anyone else, it just further identifies the German enemies as the evil "others". Not especially sophisticated, perhaps. but the moment wouldn't have the same amusing impact if Spielberg had just subtitled it for everyone.
