Directed by Kornél Mundruczó, White God essentially follows a pack of dogs who organize and take over an entire city. Yes, this sounds like it shouldn't be a good movie, let alone a critically acclaimed one. In fact, simply reading the premise of the film makes it sounds like a cheesy B-movie that Roger Corman or Lloyd Kaufman would have made. However, dozens of critics have assured that White God defies the odds, will win over the skeptics, and will have you laughing, cheering, and sitting in emotional exhaustion well before its two-hour run-time comes to a close. It's pretty much like a foreign gritty reboot of Homeward Bound. Sample review (via Film Pulse):
"Its most certainly not a kids movie and it doesnt hold back from showing you some awful imagery, but the epic climax is worth the price of admission. This is the type of movie that, immediately after seeing it, youre hopping online to see how they managed to pull it off."
