The Line: When Adonis (Michael B. Jordan) confronts Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) in the locker room about him refusing to seek treatment for his non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, Rocky explains that he essentially has nothing left to live for, and that if he could see his wife once more, he'd die a happy man. On the verge of tears, he says, "I told myself, if I break, if I'm hurt, whatever, I ain't gonna fix it. Why bother?" Why It's Awesome: It's a devastating line that shows how far Rocky has fallen from greatness, and how lonely he feels, no matter his local fame. It's also the clip they'll probably show if, as seems likely, Stallone ends up with an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his work here. It's practically impossible for any fan of the original series not to feel stirred by Stallone's impeccable work here, and this line seals it.
