20 Ludicrously Long Movie Titles You'd Probably Never Watch

18. Long Strange Trip, Or The Writer, the Naked Girl, And The Guy With A Hole In His Head (2011)

Long Strange TripWhat The...? Definitely the strangest remake of Apocalypse Now, though the film-maker, writer and star Peter Wick made it abundantly clear he was making an odd homage, as opposed to a straight remake. Long Strange Trip is an oddity that quickly descends into absurdity and rests comfortably in the realms of farce. Is It Any Good? Well according to the suspicious reviews on Amazon, which may or may not have all come from the director's friends (they're all from Seattle,) the film is a cheap, but wonderful indie masterpiece. On reflection after watching, with lofty expectations, it is only one of those things. Cheap.

17. The Death Of The Flea Circus Director, Or Ottocaro Weiss Reforms His Firm (1973)

Flea CircusWhat The...? Nothing sells movies quite like the presence of a flea circus, except perhaps a dead flea circus, which forms the narrative thrust for this Francois Simon film focusing on a nefarious plot to spread the black plague. Is It Any Good? It's an interesting if not quite entertaining watch, though it is unnecessarily long, but more crucially, it is an important film, which is enough to turn off even the most ardently curious of film fans. It strives towards an anti-illusionist agenda, which seems deeply at odds with any manifesto for entertainment, and unfortunately it shows in a lot of places. But if you're the kind of person who likes to show off your knowledge and fastidious commitment to important, essential works of art, it's one for you.
