Edgar Wright's film Shaun Of The Dead was a hilarious sendup of the zombie genre, and it was especially inspired by the films of George A. Romero. Romero himself really enjoyed the movie and was flattered by their love letter to his work, so he decided to return the favor when making his next movie.

In Romero's Land of the Dead, released just a year after Shaun, director Edgar Wright and actor Simon Pegg briefly appear as zombies during the bar room scene. They're covered in so much makeup and it goes by so quickly that it would be virtually impossible to notice the first time, but once pointed out, it becomes incredibly obvious.

Romero must have been happy with their performance because their characters are featured prominently on the DVD cover despite only being in the movie for ten seconds.
