20 Mind-Blowing Easter Eggs Hidden In Your Favorite Horror Films

4. Rosemary's Baby's Subtle Bit Of Meta Humor

You wouldn't exactly expect a movie like Rosemary's Baby to make use of meta humor, but there's a pretty funny gag hidden in there that almost nobody watching the film today would laugh at. During a casual conversation that doesn't seem that significant, Rosemary tells Terry that she looks like the actress Victoria Vetri.

Terry simply responds, "Everyone says that, but I don't see the resemblance." Terry is actually played by actress Victoria Vetri, so this is a sneaky breaking of the fourth wall. Vetri never went on to become very famous, though, and so today the joke goes over everyone's head.

It's especially strange because when the film was released, Victoria Vetri was going by the name Angela Dorian. That's how she's listed in the credits, and when she appeared in an issue of Playboy, it was under the name Angela.

So not only does the joke not register with anyone today, but it would barely register to the average person in 1968. Talk about an obscure bit of humor.
