All this talk of the Alien franchise has our curiosity in the soon to be released Alien: Covenant well and truly piqued. While we know certain things about the forthcoming second prequel – like the new addition of a character called Daniels (played by Katherine Waterston) and the return of Michael Fassbender – one thing that has got us really excited is the introduction of an all new alien creature, the Neomorph.

As seen in Covenant trailers it’s a creepy take on the classic xenomorph with a vitamin D deficient skin tone, a pointed head, dorsal fins and a pie hole that’s quite possibly even more terrifying than its forebears.

Judging by the real-life inspiration behind the beast – the equally horrifying goblin shark, described by Ridley Scott as ‘scary, hideous beyond belief actually’ – the Neomorph could very well be the stuff of nightmares.
