George A. Romero made sneaky cameos in all but the very last of his Living Dead movies beginning with an uncredited appearance in Night of the Living Dead as a journalist reporting on the zombie outbreak from Washington DC.

In Dawn of the Dead, Romero had two cameos as both the director of the television studio Fran works for at the start of the movie and later as a motorcycle-riding Santa Claus during the biker raid on the mall while in Day of the Dead he can briefly be seen as scarf-wearing zombie pushing a cart when the underground bunker is overrun by the undead during the finale.

Land of the Dead featured Romero in voice only uttering the line “Take that, you smelly zombie” during a puppet show held for the kids of post-apocalypse Pittsburgh’s shantytown and finally in Diary of the Dead, he plays a police chief at a press conference claiming a government cover-up of the zombie outbreak.
