Hawkeye's role in The Avengers was disappointingly small, but he's set to receive a major upgrade in terms of screentime in Avengers: Age Of Ultron. One very cool sounding element of the character which was cut from the first movie, though, which would have seen the archer capable of taking down his fellow Avengers. In fact, it sounds like a much tougher version of Hawkeye was at one point going to be used, with arrows that could disable Iron Man's armour and even take down the Hulk. Perhaps Whedon thought that would make his teammates look weak, but it would have definitely made Hawkeye more interesting!
