20 Mind-Blowing Facts About The Jurassic Park Franchise

3. Jurassic Park IV Almost Featured Dinosaur-Human Hybrids

If you thought the two direct sequels to Jurassic Park were bad, just be thankful the original plans for a fourth instalment never came to pass. Jurassic World has received pre-emptive criticism in some quarters for its genetically-modified new breed Indominus Rex, so it€™s almost a shame we€™ll never know how the public at large would have responded to the 2005 version written by William Monahan and John Sayles. Their attempt to reinvent the franchise apparently involved a secret genetics lab where a mercenary team of hybrid dinosaurs are created to undertake special-ops missions. These cross-breeds come complete with body armour, human DNA and a drug-regulating implant that can administer adrenaline or serotonin as required, and the D-Team embarks on a mission in which drug dealers are slain and children rescued along the way. Several other versions were also developed at length and plenty of examples of concept art have since found their way onto the Internet. While Jurassic World€™s spiffy new dinosaur and Chris Pratt€™s raptor pack carry echoes of earlier ideas, fans of the franchise should be thankful for a new version more in keeping with the spirit of old.

I watch movies and I watch sport. I also watch movies about sport, and if there were a sport about movies I'd watch that too. The internet was the closest thing I could find.
