Zodiac was one of the first films to be shot purely on digital, which was great news for Fincher, but terrible news for his actors. The turnaround between scenes was dramatically cut due to the change in medium, something Robert Downey Jr was less than pleased with.

Given the actor is notorious for sneaking snacks on set, it's not surprising to learn that he found a way to adapt to the intense shooting schedule. What is surprising is just how he dealt with it.

Speaking on Keanu Reeves’ 2012 documentary, Side by Side, Fincher recalled how RDJ would often complain about the longer hours. The actor was quoted as saying "I can't work like this. I never get to go to my trailer. I can never get my s**t together. I'm on my feet 14 hours a day. Sure, this would take its toll on anyone, but most would shake it off.

What Downey Jr actually did was much more disgusting. The actor would often hide jars around the set, in order to urinate in them between takes. Not only that, he would often return with the full jar in hand and leave it in the shot in protest.
