7. The Actor Who Played Teenage Tom Riddle Was 23 Years Old At The Time Of Filming (The Philosopher's Stone)

When Christian Coulson won the coveted role of teenage Tom Riddle (aka Voldemort) for The Chamber Of Secrets, he was 23 years old, vastly exceeding the 15-17 age limit set for the auditions. Though Coulson's youthful appearance didn't make this much of a problem to begin with, when Coulson expressed interest in reprising his role for The Half-Blood Prince, when he would have been roughly 30, director David Yates decided to recast him with Frank Dillane, a decision decried by many fans. Though recasting is always sketchy, at least it was for a relatively minor part in the series, and to boot, there's absolutely no way a 30-year-old would have been able to pass for a high schooler. Perhaps the producers should have better thought through who they originally cast for the part...
