20 Mind-Blowing Facts You Never Knew About James Bond

8. Roger Moore Has A Fear Of Guns

If there's one major requirement for an actor to be able to play James Bond, it's surely that he can fire a gun. Apparently, though, this isn't a necessity - while he may have gunned down criminal masterminds and henchmen aplenty in his seven films as Bond, Roger Moore suffers from Hoplophobia, a fear of guns. Dating back to when a rifle exploded in his hands during his National Service in the army, Moore always involuntarily blinked at the sound of a gunshot. Fearing this would cost him the role of Bond, however, he learnt to 'clench his eyes' to stop them blinking when he fired the gun. Extra fact: Roger Moore hated the way that he ran, so any scene that required him to run away was performed by a stunt double.
