5. The Water In Finding Nemo Was Originally Too Realistic
The water animation in Finding Nemo was pretty incredible at the time, and even now it looks very impressive. But the studio actually went out of their way to make it not look realistic - originally the water looked way too much like real life.
In the production of the movie, the crew took a bunch of underwater footage and recreated it via animation. It was so photo realistic, the supervising animators couldn't even tell the difference between the two. They decided that although they were capable of making the water look this amazing, it was weird to have cartoony characters but incredibly realistic water, and so they intentionally scaled it all back.
So yes, Pixar is so impressive they accidentally made animation that was too good.
