20 Mind-Blowing Facts You Never Knew About The Terminator Franchise

12. Schwarzenegger Got Paid $21,429 Per Word Spoken In Terminator 2

Everybody knows the T-800 isn't the most talkative robot in cinema history, but do you know exactly how few words Arnie's Terminator actually speaks? In the first Terminator film, Schwarzenegger gets just 18 lines, totalling less than 100 words. In Terminator 2, Cameron decided to give the T-800 significantly more to say (relatively, anyway), though 700 words for a lead character is still a tad lower than the average. And given Schwarzenegger's $15 million paycheck, it meant every one of those words was worth the price of a decent car (for the early '90s anyway). Overall, for every word he speaks in Terminator 2, Schwarzenegger was paid a hefty $21,429. "Hasta la vista, baby" alone was worth $85,716.
