11. He Was Also Given A Jet As A Thanks For Returning
After the success of The Terminator, and given the major career upswings James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger had experienced in the interim, studios were much happier to lay their money on the line for Terminator 2. For the sequel, producers put aside roughly $100 million, the highest figure ever reserved for a feature film at that time. A good portion of this - $5 million - was set for Cameron, but the biggest sum unsurprisingly went to the returning Schwarzenegger. With his payment of $15 million, Schwarzenegger actually made more than double what it cost to make the original Terminator (budgeted at $6.4 million). This wasn't the only benefit of Schwarzenegger making a second Terminator appearance. For his accepting the role in T2, Schwarzenegger was also given a Gulfstream III airplane by producer Mario Kassar, as a thank you.
