20 Mind-Blowing Facts You Never Knew About The Terminator Franchise

14. Arnold Schwarzenegger Went A Tiny Bit Method During The Terminator Shoot

Though Arnold Schwarzenegger has been one of the biggest (literally and figuratively) star actors in cinematic history, he's ironically rarely been well-regarded for his acting. But though Arnie may be no De Niro, that didn't stop him from putting the effort into getting in the mind-set of the T-800 during production of The Terminator. For starters, Schwarzenegger actively avoided Linda Hamilton and Michael Biehn on-set, in order to prevent himself from bonding with his character's targets. He also trained himself to become so proficient with weaponry that he could take apart and assemble guns whilst blindfolded. Schwarzenegger actually worked with guns every day for a month prior to shooting, becoming ambidextrous, and learning to reload without even looking at his gun. This was so Schwarzenegger could become almost automatic, and use weaponry in a more machine-like manner, as the T-800 would.
