4. Walter Peck - Charlatan?
Despite the presence of ghosts and Gods, the real villain of the first film is Walter Peck, the busy-body lawyer who represents the EPA and tries to shut down the Ghostbusters. Hes hugely unlikable, and in the words of Peter Venkman has questionable genital circumstances, but hes also probably a charlatan. Peck claims he represents the EPA 3rd district, but New York City is within EPA's Region 2, and there arent any districts, which he should probably have known. And then theres the fact that the law he quotes to shut down the Ghostbusters - the Environmental Protection Act - doesnt even exist. So who is this man quoting false laws from a region that doesnt exist?
