20 Most Anticipated Horror Movies Of 2025
The future of horror is looking very bright indeed.
Though 2024 has already spawned a few solid horror flicks, it looks like the best is still to come, with Terrifier 3, Alien: Romulus, A Quiet Place: Day One, and MaXXXine being released over the next few months.
2025 might seem pretty far off, but things are already shaping up pretty nicely on the horror front. Since certain entries on this list won't be released for quite some time, some information surrounding casts and plot may be a little uncertain. However, the few details that have been unveiled about these upcoming slashers, zombie flicks, and supernatural dramas are exciting.
For example, Final Destination is making a comeback, the long-awaited It Follows sequel is on the way, and Ari Aster is cooking up another creepy feature that's sure to leave audiences unable to sleep for a week.
Now, it's unwise to get too pumped over every movie on this list, since there's bound to be a few letdowns - look at what happened with the Halloween trilogy - but it's hard not to get excited by these horror projects, especially when it's a original story by a vouched director, a long-awaited remake, or a creative spin on a beloved property.
Though patience is a virtue, 2025 can't get here soon enough.
20. Ombis 2: Alien Awakening
Ombis: Alien Invasion, also known as Not Human, came across as the sci-fi horror equivalent of The Room. With its incomplete special effects, amateur lighting, and embarrassing acting, this clunker makes The Asylum films look... well, not good, but watchable, and could easily be mistaken as a spoof, if not for the fact all the work of the director, Adam R. Steigart, is equally awful.
However, there's no denying Ombis is entertaining. Every aspect of the film, from the non-sensical plot to the ridiculous delivery of lines, highlights why this gem falls into the "so bad, it's good" category.
Since the self-proclaimed "visionary director" is returning for a sequel, Ombis 2 could be 2025's funniest movie. (Unintentionally, of course).
