20 Most Anticipated Horror Movies Of 2025

At first, the news of another Scary Movie shouldn't get anyone too excited, considering the series hasn't been good since... well... Scary Movie 2. Worse still, the property launched a slew of unwatchable parodies, such as Epic Movie and Meet the Spartans, that tainted the spoof genre as a whole.

However, this next Scary Movie has potential as it's being overseen by Neal H. Moritz, the big-time producer who's been involved with projects like the Jump Street reboot, Preacher, and The Boys. Although such properties have plenty of juvenile gags, they get away with it since they're jam-packed with smart dialogue and clever jokes. Moritz is more than acquainted with the genre, having I Know What You Did Last Summer, Urban Legend, and Goosebumps as just a few of the horror pictures on his résumé.

Also, a modern spoof could be genuinely hilarious if done right. Since horror has been thriving in recent years, it'd be refreshing to see Scary Movie 6 pull off a silly spin on films like The Menu, Barbarian, or Hereditary, or poke fun at how franchises overuse nostalgia and rely on remakes, soft reboots, and legacy sequels to sustain themselves.
