20 Most Anticipated Horror Movies of 2026
19. Weapons
Weapons is director Zach Cregger's follow-up to his acclaimed debut Barbarian, and so the buzz is quite naturally off the charts.
Though little concrete is known about the plot, it's been dubbed a "multistory horror epic" in the vein of Magnolia, revolving around the disappearance of children in a small Florida community, with a plot that involves corrupt cops, religious abuse, witchcraft, blood rituals, and generational trauma.
It certainly sounds like an ambitious step up from Barbarian, and better yet the cast is supremely stacked, with the likes of Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Benedict Wong, Austin Abrams, Amy Madigan, and June Diane Raphael among the ensemble.
Weapons releases January 16, 2026.
