20 Most Anticipated Movies Still To Come In 2021

18. The Green Knight

Despite being one of the more modestly budgeted films delayed by the pandemic, The Green Knight is clearly a film that distributor A24 wants people to see in cinemas first and foremost, and watching the mesmerising trailer, it's easy to understand why.

Directed by the great David Lowery (Pete's Dragon, A Ghost Story), the film is based on the legendary poem of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, and looks set to be a totally unique spin on Arthurian legend.

With its emphasis on atmosphere over lavish CGI set-pieces, The Green Knight just might end up one of the year's most intoxicating cinematic experiences, while further persuading of Dev Patel's impressive acting range.

If that's somehow not enough to entice you, the supporting cast includes Alicia Vikander, Joel Edgerton, Sarita Choudhury, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie, Barry Keoghan, and Ralph Ineson.

The Green Knight will release on July 30.
