20 Most Anticipated Netflix Originals For The Rest Of 2020

1. Mank

The Devil All the Time Tom Holland
Warner Bros. Pictures

Release Date: TBA October

But nothing quite matches the hype of what is by far Netflix's safest Oscar bet this year - David Fincher's Mank.

Written by Fincher's late father Jack Fincher, Mank is a biopic of Citizen Kane screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz (Gary Oldman), focused on his creative clashes with Orson Welles (Tom Burke) leading up to the film's release.

Beyond Oldman and Burke, who are both strong awards hopefuls here already, the supporting cast is rounded out by Amanda Seyfried, Lily Collins, Tuppence Middleton, Tom Pelphrey, and Charles Dance.

Though we haven't seen anything official from the movie yet, there's never been a reason to doubt Fincher's filmmaking chops, so why start now?

If this lives up to its dishy potential, Fincher could finally net himself a well-earned Best Director Oscar, alongside a posthumous Best Original Screenplay win for his father.
