20 Most Anticipated Netflix Originals For The Rest Of 2020

15. The Prom

The Devil All the Time Tom Holland
TriStar Pictures

Release Date: TBA

Acclaimed 2016 musical The Prom makes its way to Netflix courtesy of Ryan Murphy (Glee), as part of his colossal $300 million deal with the streaming giant.

A satire of Broadway theater topped with an all-star cast including Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, James Corden, Kegan-Michael Key, Kerruy Washington, Andrew Rannells, and Tracey Ullman, The Prom has the potential to be one of Netflix's most popular releases in 2020 across demographics.

Streep, Corden, Kidman, and Rannells star as four washed-up Broadway actors who, in an attempt to revitalise their careers, head to the conservative town of Edgewater, Indiana to stop a high school from banning a student (Jo Ellen Pellman) taking her girlfriend to prom.

With beloved source material and cinematography from the great Matthew Libatique (A Star Is Born), this should be a frothy good time.
