Spoiler alert! All The Boys Love Mandy Lane is a clear attempt to emulate the look and feel of a '70s horror film, but it changes that up significantly by having the character who would typically be the "final girl" actually be the villain herself.

Mandy Lane is an outsider who everyone made fun of, but over one summer she suddenly blossoms and so now every boy in school wants to get with her. She realizes that she's being looked at as an object for all these guys, who didn't care about her at all when she wasn't as traditionally attractive. It's very intentional that there's so much cattle imagery in the movie, because that's exactly what Mandy is to these guys: a piece of meat.

All the boys are constantly vying for her attention, and Mandy ruthlessly manipulates all of them throughout the film. She isn't really the killer, but she gets Emmet to do her bidding for her. Though he thought of himself as her accomplice, in the end she backs out of their suicide pact, and she has played Emmet just as much as she played everyone else.

Mandy is an example of a character who's badass but while barely actually doing anything, treating everyone in the movie like puppets on strings.
