7. SS Experiment Camp (1977)

ss experimnet Although it is undoubtedly a movie in extreme bad taste, SS Experiment camp is not half as contentious as its Nasty Nazi sister - Gestapo's Last Orgy. It is a rather silly spectacle that looks more like a holiday camp than an experiment camp but nevertheless, experiments do occur. The basic premise of the story is that an SS Commander needs a testicle transplant. He lost his knackers while raping and pillaging in Poland. Now he gets a whole lot of luscious girls and hunky soldiers to perform sexual experiments in order to find the most virile soldier and steal his cojones. Whenever the transplant victim has his bollocks chopped off, he surprisingly does not know about this misfortune until he goes to shag his girlfriend in the camp and finds he cannot perform. The best line ever in a Nazisploitation movie comes next "OH MY GOD YOU BASTARDS! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY BALLS?!". Then everyone goes beserk and kill each other. The film's infamy derives mostly from its advertising campaign which featured a poster of a naked girl being crucified up side down. Also it just has a dodgy name - SS Experiment Camp - which promises all sorts of depravity and probably raised the red flag at the BBFC. The organisation would lift the ban in 20 years time but the film's incendiary title still got people's goats. In 2008 on Holocaust Memorial Day, MPs Keith Vaz and Julian Brazier roundly denounced the film but really it is more silly than offensive. Controversial because: it exploits the death camps for its own ridiculous ends.

My first film watched was Carrie aged 2 on my dad's knee. Educated at The University of St Andrews and Trinity College Dublin. Fan of Arthouse, Exploitation, Horror, Euro Trash, Giallo, New French Extremism. Weaned at the bosom of a Russ Meyer starlet. The bleaker, artier or sleazier the better!
