This critically-acclaimed and heavily tipped Mexican drama from Alfonso Cuaron is yet more evidence that he doesn't make bad movies. He doesn't even make mediocre ones.
It's a fairly simple, 1970s family drama on paper in which not a great deal seems to happen. But the pleasure is in the story-telling and the characters and how gentle and wise and personal it all feels.
