Another French gore-fest which is often associated with the New French Extremity movement is Xavier Gens' Frontiere(s), which also pays homage to slasher movies of old, featuring a bloodthirsty psychotic family obsessed with the fascist ideology of the Nazis. Sometimes it's just as satisfying to watch the antagonist get their just desserts, and in one great scene our plucky heroine Yasmine finally manages to turn the tables on Neo-Nazi Goetz. Calling her a "dirty slut!" was probably his first mistake - she responds by slamming an axe into his foot, then repeatedly hits him in the chest with it for good measure. With Goetz still standing it's clear the axe alone isn't going to cut it - but the circular saw on the table behind him probably will.
