5. The Lightsaber Battle (Star Wars: The Force Awakens)

Despite the nearly impossible expectations, The Force Awakens absolutely delivered a spectacle of epic moment after moment. Some would argue that the first chase involving the Millennium Falcon was the film€™s star moment, but it€™s impossible to not recognize the gravity of the final battle between Kylo Ren, Finn, and subsequently Rey. The confrontation had been teased out in trailers, and lightsabers had been used sparingly throughout the film, but the was the first, and only, out-and-out duel in the whole film. Having suffered through three films where the fight scenes were populated with impossible acrobatics and force pushes, The Force Awakens brought it all back to a harsh and realistic battle, where none of the participants really even knew how to effectively wield the devastating weapons they had. Kylo Ren, at the height of his rage, finally takes on both heroes face to face and it was glorious. Seeing the lightsabers finally make contact was incredible and amidst all of the galactic conflict, it was Ren€™s emotional struggle and Rey€™s manifestation of her powers that made this scene so epic.
