20 Most Epic Movie Moments Of 2015

6. Bear Attack (The Revenant)

There€™s a reason there€™s been a frequent inclusion of stellar tracking shots in this list. To construct an awe-inspiring action moment in film is one thing, but to do so while almost completely immersing the viewer in the experience thanks to a singular, focused viewpoint is quite another. With the beautiful, natural and realistic The Revenant, the brutal bear attack did just that. It lulled us in with its gorgeous imagery and before Leonardo DiCaprio€™s Hugh Glass could even turn around, out of nowhere a bear charges him and savagely claws away for minutes on end. The actual attack is the combination of some masterful effects, cinematography and acting. Leo is literally inches from death but the scene refuses to break, forcing the viewer to keep watching him struggle against a bear that€™s so realistic, it€™s hard to believe was computer-generated. After being touted so much before its release, this bear attack lived up to the hype and sold the feral allure of the film.
