20 Most Epic Movie Moments Of 2015

15. The Walk (The Walk)

To build an entire film around a singular moment means that that event had better be amazing. Thankfully, in the case of The Walk, the titular walk absolutely lived up to expectations. After over an hour of setting up the how and the why of Philippe Petit walking across a wire between the Twin Towers In New York, it was finally time to actually see him do it. Director Robert Zemeckis has long been one of the forebears of inventive visual cinema and he didn€™t let up here, presenting a vertigo-inducing view of the event that truly made the audience feel as if they were right up there with Petit. The sights below looked real, the stakes were suitably high and the reactions of everyone watching gave the entire ordeal a sense of real danger, even knowing that he succeeded in real life. As the scene continues on, his lengthy walk back and forth loses some steam, but in those initial moments as he steps out, the feeling it conjured up was nothing short of epic.
