20 Most Epic Movie Moments Of 2017

17. The Amsterdam Chase - The Hitman's Bodyguard

The nuttiest of all the nutty action sequences in this underrated summer buddy comedy sees bodyguard Michael Bryce (Ryan Reynolds) leaving assassin Darius Kincaid (Samuel L. Jackson) to fend for himself in Amsterdam.

Naturally, Kincaid is attacked moments later by a fleet of machine gun-wielding killers, causing him to flee on foot, sneak a ride on a tram, and then commandeer a speedboat, all while Bryce grabs a motorcycle and decides to help.

Kincaid rides the boat through Amsterdam's narrow river tunnels with guns being shot at him and cars being launched into the river, while Bryce speeds through the winding streets in an attempt to catch up.

A rocket launcher soon enough joins the mix, and while Kincaid eventually manages to escape, Bryce gets hit by a car and, ironically enough, is kidnapped for his trouble.

With its focus on practical stunt work and a unique location, this is easily one of the most low-key memorable set-pieces from this past summer, and an all-around terrifically-executed sequence.
