20 Most Iconic Hero Introductions In Movie History

5. Batman - Batman

With the huge success of Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy, it's a shame that the earlier incarnation of this iconic hero in Tim Burton's Batman sometimes gets overlooked - to some, Michael Keaton's performance is a far more enjoyable comic book rendition than the one portrayed by Christian Bale. With Batman Begins we see the character develop from an angry, grief-ridden young man through to the masked vigilante - his suit isn't revealed until nearly half way into the film. Tim Burton went the other way and opened with the classic rooftop scene in which Batman flies through the shadows before swooping down on a pair of terrified petty criminals. "What are you!?" one of them cries, followed by the iconic line, "I'm Batman!" Damn straight! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqXpqSzjFkQ
