20 Most Iconic Hero Introductions In Movie History

13. Tequila - Hard Boiled

Few will argue that John Woo's Hard Boiled isn't one of the best action movies of all time. In his prime, Woo was perhaps the greatest director in the world for handling hyper-kinetic, relentless-yet-graceful action scenes and Hard Boiled can be seen as representing the pinnacle of his career. The opening scene - in which you meet Inspector "Tequila" Yuen (action movie legend Chow Yun-fat) and his partner on a stake out in a tea house - could be justifiably called Woo's greatest accomplishment. Delivering a body count rarely seen in action movies these days, it's a visually splendid portrayal of out-and-out carnage. By the end of the shoot-out audiences are left with a close up of Tequila covered in flour as he spits his toothpick in an enemy's face then shoots him, a spray of blood splattering him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wYCh5nxyCI
