20 Most Iconic Hero Introductions In Movie History

12. Rick Deckard - Blade Runner

Unless you've been living under a rock the last few weeks you'll be aware of the fact that Harrison Ford has been in the news once again for being a real-life hero - after losing control of his plane he ended up crashing it on a golf course, prompting a string of humorous headlines about the earth narrowly avoiding a fatal collision with Harrison Ford and photoshop images of the Millenium Falcon protruding from a golf course. Harrison Ford's status as an on-screen hero is far more legendary than his admittedly impressive real world exploits - it shouldn't come as a surprise to find him cropping up multiple times on this list. The first iconic introduction featured comes near the beginning of Ridley Scott's moody adaptation of Philip K. Dick's Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep, Blade Runner. Deckard (Ford) is revealed at a food stall in a dystopian Los Angeles of 2019 (not long now!) - Scott captures the bleak mood perfectly, while Rick has all the unaffected coolness of a Philip Marlowe character.
