If Spielberg cut his teeth on blockbuster monster movies with his early film Jaws, by the time he came to directing Jurassic Park his mastery of the genre never felt more assured. This is arguably the monster movie to end all monster movies. With the latest trailers for the upcoming revisit to the franchise Jurassic World featuring a predominance of very obvious computer graphics, it's refreshing to return to Spielberg's original and note how many shots are comprised of practical effects. Nowhere is this more clear than in the introduction of the Tyrannosaurus Rex, in what has become one of the most memorable scenes from any blockbuster.
