20 Most Iconic Movie Deaths Of All Time
10. Roy Batty - Blade Runner (1982)
With his life-force draining rapidly, Rutger Hauer's replicant Roy Batty delivers a haunting and eloquent final monologue after saving Harrison Ford's Deckard from falling to his doom, in what is quite possibly the most emotionally-charged moment in all of science fiction cinema. No matter how many times Blade Runner is re-cut and re-released, Roy's final words never lose any of their impact.
During the 'Making Of' documentary it is revealed that Hauer rewrote much of the dialogue himself the night before the scene was shot and his understanding of the character greatly enhanced the emotional impact of the scene, leading to a round of applause and even a few tears from the assembled crew when the take was complete as Roy laments that all of his memories are about to be lost forever; "All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die."
