20 Most Intense Movie Scenes Ever

16. The Church Massacre - Kingsman: The Secret Service

Kingsman Church Scene Colin Firth

Kingsman: The Secret Service may be a rather ridiculous action flick for the most part, but there's one sequence that's legitimately discomforting in its wanton brutality.

After Harry Hart (Colin Firth) follows a lead to a Kentucky church full of racists and bigots, the villainous Richmond Valentine (Samuel L. Jackson) activates his mind-control SIM cards, causing the churchgoers to start murdering one another.

Cue Harry shooting, stabbing and blowing up the parishioners until he's the only one left standing in an extremely bada** - yet also undeniably unsettling - three-minute sequence, which blends shots together to resemble a fluid single take, and is made all the more intense by smart use of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Free Bird."
