Car chases don't come much more exciting or awe-inspiring than Mad Max: Fury Road's astonishing 15-minute final chase.

From director George Miller's expert melding of practical and visual effects to the sheer array of mayhem taking place at any one time, it's a heart-pounding sequence boosted by some excellent musical accompaniment from Junkie XL.

Action in cinema is rarely, if ever, this brilliantly sustained, and that it manages to maintain viewer attention without being exhausting to watch is an impressive achievement in of itself.

And if that's not enough, it ends with Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne) having his face ripped off followed by a giant tanker crash. What more could you want or need out of a Mad Max movie?
