Victor Fleming's iconic epic drama remains the highest-grossing film of all time when adjusted for inflation, all the more impressive considering its brutal 238 minute run-time.

Though it's a challenging sit for modern audiences in particular, Gone with the Wind is a witty, gorgeous film that's propped up by magnificent central performances (especially a never-better Clark Gable) and beautiful visuals that have held up insanely well.

It's a touch too melodramatic at points, but it's mostly earned its stripes as a sure-fire classic, even if you might only want to actually sit through it all once.
