Don't get us wrong: Guardians of the Galaxy is a great movie, and is arguably the best and most technically accomplished Marvel Cinematic Universe movie to date. It's the blockbuster that the Phantom Menance should have been - hilarious, fun, thrilling and romantic (take note J.J. Abrams). Above it all, it refused to take itself seriously in any way, which is kind of essential for a movie featuring a talking racoon voiced by Bradley Cooper. But that doesn't change the fact that its standing in 62nd place feels a little hyperbolic. Of course, it makes sense that Guardians of the Galaxy has been bumped so far up the list, because it's a new movie, and would have therefore received more votes than older pictures. But the IMDb is telling us that Guardians of the Galaxy is a better - or, at least, more "popular" - movie than Citizen Kane. And something about that is inherently wrong.
