20 Most Perfect Scenes In Recent Movies
9. Avatar: Fire & Ash - The Mangkwan Attack
It is a crying shame that James Cameron has wasted most of his career on the Avatar franchise - easily his least-interesting property - yet the man's ability to craft some of the most amazing blockbuster spectacles around remains undiminished, as he proved several times throughout his recent threequel Avatar: Fire and Ash. The movie itself was a crushing slog that was, much like the first two Avatar flicks, brought down by awful pacing and lifeless characters but awesome movie moments can come from anywhere.
Most notably, this early action sequence will leave viewers picking their jaws off the floor, for it is just spectacular. While Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and his family are taking Spider (Jack Champion), their adopted human son, back to Pandora's human settlement by air, the airship is attacked by the Mangkwan Clan, an aggressive group of Navi, setting the stage for a stunning battle in the skies.
Cameron was in complete command of his craft and delivered overwhelming, immersive spectacle like only he can, and even though it's a load of blue extra-terrestrials battling in an alien world, it all looks so darn real - such are the quality of Avatar's visual effects.
