20 Most Perfect Scenes In Recent Movies

10. Marty Supreme - The Bathtub

Though Marty Supreme was only directed by one of the Safdie Brothers, it very much felt like a spiritual successor to the earlier films co-directed by both - namely, Good Time and Uncut Gems. Much like those earlier films, Marty Supreme was an anxiety-inducing tour-de-force that can best be described as a cinematic panic attack that delivered one terrifyingly stressful moment after another.

Most notably, there's the bathtub scene. This is perhaps its most purely shocking, out-of-nowhere moment. While the rest of the movie is a marvel of gradually building tension up to unbearable levels, this one is a cold, hard slap in the face that'll have everyone staring goggle-eyed at the screen.

While staying in a run-down hotel, Marty (Timothee Chalamet) gets into a bathtub that, after a few minutes, abruptly collapses through the floor. It also occurs just as Marty is being informed that he's been banned from a competition he wants to go to, and when the bath falls it injures the man in the room below... who just so happens to be a mobster.

As movie jump-scares go, this is the most elite of the elite - a manic explosion of chaos that escalates everything in the most surprising and hilarious way imaginable. The greatest moment in a truly great movie.
