Directed by Memento helmer Christopher Nolan, this 2010 effort stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a professional dream invader—yeah, it’s no wonder this one needs more than one viewing to be fully understood.

Borrowing from the late Satoshi Kan’s superb 2006 effort Paprika, the unbearably tense thriller sees its widowed protagonist talked into one last job as he and a crack team endeavour to implant an idea in the mind of a corporate heir. Corporate subterfuge has never been so confusing, and you’ll need at least two viewings to fully understand this one.

But much like his earlier aforementioned psychological thriller, Nolan ensures there’s enough charming banter between the team and believable development for Leo’s tortured hero that you’ll return to this one even after you actually understand what’s happening.
