10. The Random Attractive Bystanders - Both Avengers Movies
The Moment: In The Avengers, a waitress is saved from the Chitauri by Cap and ends up praising him on TV at the end of the movie, and in Age of Ulton, a young Sokovian woman is focused on as she and her younger brother get caught up in Ultron's attack.
Why It's Ridiculous: This is a strange Joss Whedon flourish that doesn't really add anything to the films at all, beyond the rather manipulative "Hey, here's a hot girl to make you more invested in the danger that's going on", despite the fact that no civilians are ever really shown dying in these movies.
Considering that they're utterly unimportant, it's pretty cringe-worthy how long Whedon lingers on them. Fun fact: the waitress is named Beth and actually had a bigger part in the original cut of The Avengers, but it was trimmed down for time. The action is no more interesting for these moments, and honestly it just seems kinda patronising.
