20 Most Unfairly Hated Movies Of The 21st Century

11. Constantine (2005)

Watchmen Blue
Warner Bros.

Why It's Hated: Fans of the comic harbour a good deal of hatred for this adaptation because it shifts the setting to L.A., and Keanu Reeves' title character has neither a British accent nor the blonde hair of the source material.

Also, because young Shia LaBeouf is in it and he's annoying as hell. There's not much arguing with that.

Why It's Unfair: Taken on its own terms, Constantine is a visually stunning action flick with a highly unique style and tone, not to mention an immaculate supporting cast (especially Tilda Swinton and Peter Stormare).

Reeves can be rather hit-and-miss but he's basically fine, and crucially doesn't get in the way of the increasingly absurd yet feverishly entertaining storytelling.

In short, just leave the film alone already, because it's too watchable to be hated on this much.
