20 Most Unfairly Hated Movies Of The 21st Century

6. Punisher: War Zone (2008)

Why It's Hated: Fans were pretty lukewarm on the 2004 Thomas Jane-starring Punisher movie, but they flat-out despised this 2008 reboot, criticising the overtly violent tone, over-acted performances and general silliness of the plot and characters.

Why It's Unfair: The criticisms aren't really wrong, but they also don't detract from the movie being an extraordinarily fun time.

Possibly the goriest comic book adaptation of all time, War Zone is hilariously brutal, while Dominic West gives a riotously entertaining, over-the-top performance as the villainous Jigsaw, and Doug Hutchison isn't far behind as the aptly-named baddie Loony Bin Jim.

It's not high-art nor does it have any aspiration to be: it's bloody good fun, and sometimes that's more than enough.
